Practitioner Training in BICOM Bioresonance Therapy (Dip.BRT)

Andy and Anna Barrie introduced BICOM therapy to South Australia in 1998 when they emigrated from the UK. They advertised in New Age Guardian, an Adelaide bi-monthly and were fully booked after three issues. They then bought a second machine to meet the demand and were soon booked up on that one too. As BICOM's reputation spread, they began to attract patients from interstate.  They introduced a training course to meet this demand and now there are over thirty trained therapists in South Australia and a similar number in Queensland. These therapists came from all walks of life. Some were already health practitioners, whilst others, interested in complementary health techniques, decided to turn this interest into a career.

Training begins with a low cost introductory day followed by a workshop to give hands-on experience. This gives an overview of the course so students can be sure before committing to the full course of 18 days spread over six months. The course is approved by Regumed, meets their ISO 9001 quality standard and Biomed Australia Pty Ltd is Regumed's official training organisation for Australia. /Top

Outline of Diploma Course in Bioresonance Therapy

Bioresonance therapy (BRT) uses oscillations taken from the patient's body (best known are brain waves) or oscillations of substances (such as allergens), processes these electronically and feeds them back to the body to improve homeostasis. This course is based on that used for membership of the UK Bioresonance Practitioners' Association (BPA) and begun by Matt Jentzsch and Silke Polifka in 1997. We have modified it to take account of Australian conditions and recently improved it to include the latest findings from research in Europe and from our work here in Australia.  It is approved by the manufacturer, Regumed, and students who successfully complete the course receive a Diploma (Dip BRT).  As the course is over 100 hours this meets current insurance company requirements for liability insurance.  We cover both the use of the B13/15 models with v4.4 software (EAV testing and amplification sweep) and the latest B13/15 BICOM 2000 (with electromagnetic mats and Schumann waves). /Top

1) Introductory Seminar and Workshop

The  Seminar will give you an overview of BICOM therapy including setting up equipment, safety precautions, electroacupuncture testing,  and how to structure your initial consultation and follow-up therapy sessions.  It is for anyone considering becoming a BICOM therapist who is still uncertain about making the commitment. It is a prerequisite for the Diploma course unless you have attended Regumed's introductory seminar and workshop in Germany. The Workshop on the following day will give you some hands-on experience and enable you to get started with uncomplicated cases. A workshop DVD is available ($10) showing operation and therapy procedures. /Top

2) Main Course

The approach we teach is that used by leading German natural therapists.  It is based on longer treatment sessions than suggested in Regumed documentation.  In Germany, two-thirds of the machines are bought by medical practitioners and basic training is designed for GPs who have local patients coming back every week for short sessions (15-30 minutes).  Treatment is often given by an assistant rather than the doctor.  However, if you spend 1.5 - 2 hours on the first appointment and at least 1 hour on the follow ups, patients get better quicker.  A key element in this approach is early removal of energetic blockages.  Failure to do this is the main reason for lack of success in treating chronic illness. You will learn how to identify and treat blockages caused by metals (such as amalgam), radiation, unbalanced chakras, trauma and scars.

BICOM is, of course, best known for allergy desensitisation and this is an important part of the course.  The background of the biophysical theory of allergy and the research of Prof Cyril Smith and Dr Peter Schumacher is covered and compared with the immunological theories of present day orthodox medicine.  Treatment is based on the Total Body Load concept of clinical ecology.  When the total load of 'stressors' (allergies, infections etc) exceeds the individual's resistance threshold, they become ill.  In BRT, we reduce the load of stressors and boost detoxification processes to increase the resistance threshold and allow the body's self- regulatory processes to recover.

You will learn how to test for allergies, infections and toxic stressors, how to prioritise these so that you treat the strongest stressor first, and how to fit these treatments into a one hour session along with supportive programs using patient's oscillations.  Supportive treatments include such things as improving liver, kidney and lymph function.  Also taught are 'gentle' treatments for allergies, using acupuncture points, which are better for patients who are not detoxifying well. BRT is excellent for treating infections of any kind (viral, bacterial, fungal) including mosquito-borne viruses (eg Ross River), golden staph, pseudomonas and candida.  Treatment can be carried out using nosode vials or, for unidentified infections, by using electrodes to pick up signals from the affected area of the body.  An important approach in food allergies is the identification and treatment of 'phenolic' compounds.  These are components of foods and treating one of these, such as gallic acid, may avoid the need to treat a large number of foods.  Having learned the basic techniques, you will then learn about treating specific conditions such as eczema, asthma, chronic fatigue and children's behavioural problems.

An advanced technique we teach is Five Element diagnosis and treatment, developed by leading German practitioner, Martin Keymer.  This works with the traditional Chinese concept that everything in nature is governed by the five elements of Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood.  Every organ or body function and each acupuncture meridian is linked to one of the elements and this technique enables you to identify which element is related to the patient's symptoms and, more importantly, which relates to the underlying, often unsuspected, cause.  Quicker progress will then be made by directing treatment at the underlying cause. This is done either using vials or BICOM programs associated with the element. There are also sub-vials for each element, to make testing more specific, such as colon, lungs, skin and connective tissue for the Metal element.

The teeth are associated with different acupuncture meridians and organs.  For example, an infection on a front tooth could affect the kidney and bladder meridians, leading to a susceptibility to cystitis.  In Germany, dentists often use BICOM.  We will not teach a full dental course, but we will cover the basics. Uptake of nutrients can be improved using specific programs developed by Sissi Karz and Juergen Hennecke.  These will also be covered.

A detailed list of the topics covered in each module will be handed out at the introductory session. A comprehensive training manual is included in the price for the main course and several textbooks are available at cost price. /Top
